About 49 - Maa Biraja Temple Shakti Peeth
Biraja Temple, located in Jajpur, Odisha, is one of the prominent Shakti Peeths of India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Sati, who incarnated as Biraja Maa. It is believed that the navel (umbilicus) of Goddess Sati fell at this spot during Lord Shiva’s journey carrying her dismembered body. The temple is situated on the banks of the Baitarani River, and it is renowned for its sacredness and divine presence.
The idol of Maa Biraja is depicted as standing triumphantly over Mahishasura. Her crown is adorned with engravings of Lord Ganesh, a Shivling, and a crescent moon, symbolizing her power and divine connection. The temple is constructed with white stones, and its exterior is decorated with divine sculptures. A red flag flutters atop the temple, and two lion statues guard the entrance, adding to the temple’s grandeur.
बिराजा मंदिर, जो ओडिशा राज्य के जाजपुर में स्थित है, भारत के प्रमुख शक्ति पीठों में से एक है। यह मंदिर देवी सती को समर्पित है, जिन्होंने बिराजा माँ के रूप में अवतार लिया। ऐसा माना जाता है कि देवी सती का नाभि (नाभि) इस स्थान पर गिरा था जब भगवान शिव उनकी देह को ले जा रहे थे। यह मंदिर बैतरणी नदी के किनारे स्थित है और इसकी धार्मिक महत्ता और दिव्यता के लिए प्रसिद्ध है।
माँ बिराजा की मूर्ति महिषासुर पर खड़ी हुई अवस्था में स्थित है। उनके मुकुट में भगवान गणेश, शिवलिंग और एक अर्धचंद्र अंकित हैं, जो उनके सामर्थ्य और दिव्य संबंध को दर्शाते हैं। मंदिर सफेद रंग की पत्थरों से निर्मित है और इसके बाहरी दीवारों पर दिव्य मूर्तियाँ उकेरी गई हैं। मंदिर के ऊपर एक लाल ध्वज फहराता है और मुख्य द्वार पर दोनों तरफ दो शेर की मूर्तियाँ स्थापित हैं, जो मंदिर की भव्यता को और बढ़ाती हैं।
